Earn Cornell credits online, study with university faculty
No matter if you are a high school student, visiting student, Cornell undergraduate, or working toward a degree, the online courses you’ll enroll in via Cornell SCE are rigorous Cornell classes taught by Cornell instructors.
Most courses are delivered through Canvas, the university’s web-based learning system. You’ll complete your assignments within a scheduled time frame, but some courses may offer you the option of getting a head start on your classwork.
Generally, you’ll interact with the instructor and other students via email, discussion boards, interactive chat rooms, video conferences, and/or phone.
The grades and credits you earn are recorded on an official Cornell transcript and are generally transferable—though you should always confirm transfer policies with your school.
Precollege students
As a high school junior or senior, you can select from dozens of regular undergraduate Cornell online courses in subjects such as the arts, business and hotel management, health and humanities, international relations, science and technology, social change, veterinary medicine, and more. Precollege online programs are available during summer and winter sessions.

Non-degree students
If you’re not currently enrolled in a Cornell degree program, you can still take a Cornell course for credit and earn an official Cornell transcript. With instructor permission, courses are open to visiting university students, Cornell employees, and other interested adults.
