Getting to Cornell

Cornell’s main campus is located in Ithaca, New York, approximately 200 miles northwest of New York City.

You and/or your parents/guardians are responsible for making your travel arrangements to and from Cornell.

Once you’re on campus, please review the information provided on the accepted student page for where you should report for residential move-in or commuter orientation.

If you and/or your parents or guardians will be staying in Ithaca before, during, or after your program, we encourage you to make reservations as soon as possible. Summer is a busy time in the Finger Lakes! For information about local bed and breakfasts, hotels, and motels, see VisitIthaca.com.

Please note that summer residential students may not bring cars to the program.

For driving directions to the Ithaca campus, see the university’s Maps page.

For information about area airports, please see “Visitors Arriving by Plane” section on Cornell’s main “Plan your visit” page.

The bus terminal, on Green Street in downtown Ithaca, is served by Coach USA Shortline, FlixBus, Greyhound, and OurBus. Coach USA Shortline will pick up and drop off on campus and the downtown terminal.

If you live in the New York City area or plan to fly into New York City from abroad, check out Cornell’s Campus-to-Campus (C2C) express bus service.

Taxis and local TCAT buses are available to bring you up to campus from the downtown terminal. Please review drop-off information provided on the accepted student pages.
